Wonderful post, Jim!

Another thing to ponder is "Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation." (Psa 146:3)

No matter how much you like the candidate, remember they can not offer you salvation.

Sorry forgive me for typing in this question when it is not related to Tower of Babel. I tried to find another comment area that are open to any other topics we might want to bring up and ask questions about. You may delete this previous question above about the judgment off from the Tower of Babel section.

Hi Dale,

I would like to ask a question about the verse where the people who meet the Lord Jesus at judgement (probably White Throne) and they say they ministered to Him, did things for Him and but yet He said "Why do you say Lord, Lord but not do what I say? .... "Depart from me you cursed... lawbreakers..."

I remembered James the disciple said something about being doers, not be just hearers of the Word and deceiving yourselves.." I understand that God's grace is free gift that we do not deserve and we accept it by faith in Jesus and inviting Him as our Lord and Savior. Nothing for us to do to earn it but to rest in Him after recognizing we are sinners and helpless and needing His help and forgiveness. And after accepting Him we should obey and love one another as He commanded us, forgive one another, love our enemies, correct? I know that no one can enter Heaven unless they obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thanks
Matt

This comment has nothing at all to do with your post, but I can't find your e-mail address. This is Dean's son, you know. I thought you might be interested in what he got me for Christmas: Sermons on Job by John Calvin. Now, the thing that we didn't know, is that apprarently nobody has bothered to translate these sermons from the French into English since 1574, so this book (put out by Banner of Truth) is just a facsimile of that 1574 translation. Which means that everything is spelled like...well, let me just copy a random sentence: "But for as muche as the woorde perfect hath afterwarde bene mifconftrued: it is much better for vs to vfe the worde Sound." Which is readable, but not easily. So I've been "translating" this Elizabethan English into modern English spelling. I was thinking that I might occasionally post the fruit of my labor on my blog, like each time I finish a sermon. It is slow work though, since I don't have much free time. But it is neat anyway.
